Capsule gun
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000540
A perforating gun in which each shaped charge is sealed in its own pressure-tight capsule, and the capsules are mounted on a steel strip, wire or flexible carrier, so the charges sit in the well fluid instead of inside a tube. Capsule guns are small in diameter and are commonly run through tubing on wireline. In contrast, a hollow carrier gun keeps all of its charges inside one sealed steel tube.
