High shot density gun
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001824
A perforating gun configured with a large number of shaped charges per unit of length, used to create a high density of perforations in the reservoir interval. The configuration maximizes the open area for flow from the formation into the wellbore. Shot densities for these guns are specified in shots per foot (SPF), with values of 12 SPF or higher considered high density.
