Perforating gun

A downhole tool containing shaped explosive charges designed to create perforations through the casing, cement, and into the reservoir rock. The gun is lowered into the wellbore on wireline, coiled tubing, or drill pipe and detonated remotely. It comes in different configurations, including capsule guns, strip guns, and expendable guns, each suited for specific well conditions.
