Gun zero
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001773
The reference point on a perforating gun string from which all perforating depths are measured. This point is typically established at the top or bottom of the uppermost perforating charge or at a specific sensor on the tool. Accurate determination of gun zero is necessary to precisely position the perforations at the desired reservoir intervals.
