Safety spacer

A non-explosive section of tubing or bar included within a perforating gun string to create a specific distance between components. It is positioned between the firing head and the uppermost perforating charge, or between separate gun sections, to provide a safe handling area or to meet operational length requirements. The length of the spacer is determined by the specific well intervention procedure and safety protocols, sometimes extending several feet.
