Gun the pits
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001772
To agitate the drilling fluid in mud pits or tanks using high-pressure jets of mud pumped through nozzles. This action mixes the fluid to maintain a uniform consistency, prevent the settling of solids like barite, and blend in newly added chemicals or materials. The nozzles are part of a fixed piping system within the tanks, distinct from mechanical agitators that use impellers.
