Circulation system
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000680
The network of pumps, pipes, and tanks that moves drilling fluid from the mud pits, down the drill string, through the bit, and back to the surface. This system cleans the wellbore, cools the bit, and transports cuttings out of the hole. The mud returns to the surface through the annulus and is processed to remove solids before being recirculated.
