Cycle time
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000940
The total time required for a complete circulation of drilling fluid from the surface, down the drill string, through the bit, up the annulus, and back to the surface. This parameter is used to estimate when drilled cuttings or chemical additives will reach the surface. It is calculated by dividing the total circulating volume by the pump rate.
