Cycle gas
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000938
Natural gas that has been processed to remove liquid hydrocarbons and is then reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure and improve oil recovery. This process, known as gas cycling, prevents the reservoir pressure from dropping too low, which could cause remaining liquids to condense and become unrecoverable. The reinjected gas often contains a higher proportion of methane after liquid extraction.
