Perforating depth control log

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002739

A specialized wireline log run in a wellbore to precisely determine the depth of the perforating guns relative to the reservoir formation. This log correlates features in the wellbore, such as casing collars or formation markers, with the desired perforating intervals. Accurate depth control is achieved by comparing the log with open-hole logs or previous cased-hole logs.
