Selective perforating
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003329
The process of creating perforations in specific, chosen intervals within a wellbore, rather than perforating the entire pay zone simultaneously. This method allows for targeted production from desired zones or for isolating unwanted water or gas production. Selective perforating is often accomplished using selective firing systems or by making multiple runs with shorter gun strings.
