Selective nipple
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003328
A type of landing nipple with an internal profile that allows flow control devices to be run through it to a deeper nipple, or to be set within it. A specific running tool is used to engage and set the corresponding lock mandrel in the desired nipple profile, bypassing others. This design contrasts with no-go nipples, which have a shoulder that physically stops all larger tools from passing through.
