Nipple

A short piece of pipe with male threads on both ends, used to connect two other fittings with female threads. In well completions, a landing nipple is a specific type of tubular component with an internal profiled surface that provides a location to set and lock downhole flow-control devices. These profiles are standardized by manufacturers, such as the Baker F profile or Otis X profile.
