Nipple
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003901
A short piece of pipe with male pipe threads at both ends, used for connecting two other fittings, such as pipes, valves, or hoses. Nipples are defined by their length and diameter and are available in a range of materials including steel, brass, and plastic to match the piping system. A close nipple has no unthreaded area between the two sets of threads, making it the shortest possible connector of its type.
