A viscous, semi-solid material that forms in oil and gas wells, often composed of paraffin, asphaltenes, or other heavy hydrocarbons mixed with drilling fluids, formation solids, and water. It can accumulate in tubing, pipelines, and surface equipment, restricting flow and causing operational issues. Removal methods include chemical treatments, hot oiling, or mechanical scraping.
