Pig

A device sent through a pipeline to clean it, inspect its integrity, or separate different fluid batches. Pigs can be mechanical, such as those with brushes or scrapers, or intelligent, equipped with sensors to detect corrosion or anomalies. They are launched and received at dedicated pig traps along the pipeline route.
