Instrumented pig

A self-contained device, also known as a smart pig or intelligent pig, that travels through a pipeline to collect data on its internal condition. It uses sensors, such as magnetic flux leakage or ultrasonic transducers, to detect corrosion, cracks, and other anomalies. The data gathered during a pig run is analyzed to assess pipeline integrity and schedule maintenance.
