Gunk squeeze
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001775
A remedial operation involving pumping a gunk plug, a viscous mixture of bentonite and diesel or crude oil, into a zone of lost circulation or a perforating interval. The plug is then squeezed into the formation under pressure to seal off fluid loss or to isolate a specific zone. This technique is often used to combat severe lost circulation.
