Gunk plug

A viscous, semi-solid mixture of bentonite clay and diesel or crude oil, sometimes with cement, used to seal off zones of lost circulation or to temporarily plug a wellbore. This material is pumped downhole and allowed to set, forming an impermeable barrier. Its effectiveness depends on the specific formulation and downhole conditions.
