Perforation

A hole or channel created through the casing, cement sheath, and into the surrounding reservoir rock, allowing hydrocarbons to flow from the formation into the wellbore. Perforations are typically created by detonating shaped charges. The size, depth, and density of perforations are engineered for optimal well performance.
