Deep penetrating charge
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000971
A type of shaped charge specifically designed to create a long, narrow perforation tunnel deep into the reservoir formation. These charges prioritize penetration depth over entrance hole diameter, aiming to bypass any near-wellbore damage and access virgin reservoir rock. They are commonly used in low-permeability formations to maximize reservoir contact.
