Perforation phasing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002745
The angular separation between adjacent perforating charges around the circumference of a perforating gun. This orientation determines the pattern of holes created in the casing and formation. Phasing is measured in degrees, with common configurations including 0, 60, 90, 120, and 180 degrees, while spiral phasing provides 360-degree coverage.
