Adsorbed gas
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000062
Natural gas, primarily methane, that is held on the internal surfaces of organic matter and clay minerals within shale rock formations through physical attraction. This gas is stored in the micropores of the shale matrix, distinct from free gas in fractures or conventional pore spaces. It is released from the rock as reservoir pressure declines during production.
