Methylglucoside drilling fluid
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002343
A type of water-based drilling fluid that incorporates methylglucoside as a shale inhibitor and fluid loss control agent. This additive is a non-ionic sugar derivative that stabilizes reactive shales by preventing water adsorption and dispersion. It provides good thermal stability and is often used in environmentally sensitive areas due to its low toxicity.
