HEC
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001806
Hydroxyethyl cellulose, a non-ionic cellulose derivative used as a viscosifier and fluid loss control agent in water-based drilling and completion fluids. It provides excellent rheological properties and is particularly effective in brines due to its salt tolerance. HEC is commonly used in clear brine fluids to minimize formation damage.
