Methylene blue test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002342
A standard laboratory procedure that measures the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of active clays and drilled solids in a drilling fluid. This test involves titrating a mud sample with a methylene blue solution until all exchange sites on the clay are saturated.
