Conversion cross-section
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002544
A measure of the probability that an incident photon or particle will induce a specific photochemical or photophysical process in a molecule. It quantifies the effective area presented by the molecule for a particular conversion event. This value is typically expressed in units of area, such as cm2 or barns.
