Intramolecular
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013207
Describing a process or feature that occurs within the boundaries of a single molecular entity. Intramolecular reactions involve the formation or breaking of bonds between atoms that are part of the same molecule, such as in a ring-closing reaction. This contrasts with an intermolecular process, which involves interactions or reactions between two or more separate molecular entities.
