Gas constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004761
A physical constant that relates the energy scale to the temperature scale, appearing in many fundamental equations of physics and chemistry. It is the proportionality constant in the ideal gas law, PV = nRT. The value of the molar gas constant, R, is approximately 8.314 J·mol⁻¹·K⁻¹.
