Dimensionless Henry’s law volatility constant

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003223

A ratio that quantifies the volatility of a solute between a gas phase and a liquid phase, defined as the equilibrium concentration of the solute in the gas phase divided by its concentration in the liquid phase. This constant is a unitless measure of a substance's tendency to partition into the gas phase from a solution. It is the reciprocal of the dimensionless Henry's law solubility constant.
