Dispersing solvent

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003301

A solvent used in liquid-liquid microextraction techniques to facilitate the rapid dispersion of a small volume of extraction solvent into an aqueous sample. This creates a large surface area for efficient mass transfer of analytes. The dispersing solvent must be miscible with both the aqueous phase and the extraction solvent.
