Immersion solid-phase microextraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005620

A sampling technique in solid-phase microextraction (SPME) where the fiber coated with an extraction phase is directly immersed into a liquid sample. Analytes partition from the liquid matrix onto the fiber coating until equilibrium is reached. This method is simple and solvent-free, making it suitable for the extraction of volatile and semi-volatile compounds from aqueous solutions prior to chromatographic analysis.
