Catalytic dehydrocyclization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001722
A chemical process involving the removal of hydrogen atoms from an organic molecule, followed by the formation of a cyclic structure, all facilitated by a catalyst. This reaction is commonly used in the petroleum industry to convert aliphatic hydrocarbons into aromatic compounds. Platinum-based catalysts supported on alumina are frequently employed for this transformation.
