Catalytic hydrogenolysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001727
A chemical reaction where a chemical bond is cleaved by hydrogen, with the assistance of a catalyst. This process typically involves the breaking of carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bonds, leading to the formation of new carbon-hydrogen bonds. Palladium, platinum, and nickel are common catalysts used in hydrogenolysis reactions.
