Catalytic activity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001712
A measure of the ability of a catalyst, often an enzyme, to increase the rate of a specific chemical reaction. It quantifies the amount of substrate converted per unit time under defined conditions. The SI unit for catalytic activity is the katal (kat), representing one mole of substrate converted per second.
