Mean catalytic activity rate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007067

A clinical chemistry quantity equal to the catalytic activity of a named enzyme that is gained by, lost from or transferred out of a system, divided by the time taken, for example enzyme activity excreted in urine over 24 hours. It is reported in katal per unit time, such as katal per day. It differs from catalytic activity itself, which is already a rate of conversion in katal, because it adds a further division by time.
