Polymer reactant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009185
A reactant that is a polymer of high molar mass, linear or crosslinked, or that is bound to such a polymer through covalent links, hydrogen bonding or simple physical inclusion. Because the reactive species rides on the polymer, the spent reagent can be removed from the product mixture by filtering off the insoluble polymer. Reagents bound to crosslinked polystyrene beads are a typical form.
