Atomic fluorescence spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000894

A spectroanalytical technique that measures the intensity of fluorescent radiation emitted by atoms after they have been excited by incident electromagnetic radiation. A sample is atomized, and a light source excites the atoms, which then re-emit light. This method offers high sensitivity for trace elemental analysis, often in the parts per trillion range.
