Electrothermal atomic absorption spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003798
An analytical technique for determining the concentration of trace elements in a sample by atomizing the sample in an electrically heated graphite furnace. The atoms then absorb light at specific wavelengths from a hollow cathode lamp, and the decrease in light intensity is measured. This method offers high sensitivity for many elements, with detection limits often in the picogram range.
