Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009935

A band of ultraviolet radiation with the shortest wavelengths, typically ranging from approximately 100 to 280 nanometers. This radiation is almost entirely absorbed by the Earth's ozone layer and atmosphere, preventing it from reaching the surface. It is highly damaging to living organisms and is used in germicidal lamps for sterilization.
