Krypton hygrometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006818
An instrument that measures atmospheric humidity by detecting the absorption of ultraviolet (UV) radiation by water vapor at specific wavelengths. It uses a krypton lamp as a UV source and measures the attenuation of the beam over a short path length. This type of hygrometer provides fast-response measurements, making it suitable for turbulent flux studies.
