Solar infrared

The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum emitted by the sun that falls within the infrared range, typically wavelengths longer than visible light but shorter than microwaves. This radiation is a primary driver of atmospheric heating and contributes to the Earth's energy budget. It is absorbed by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
