Aluminum oxide humidity element

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003468

A sensor used to measure atmospheric humidity, consisting of an aluminum oxide layer that changes its electrical impedance in response to variations in water vapor content. The porous aluminum oxide absorbs or desorbs water molecules, altering its capacitance or resistance. This type of sensor is commonly used in radiosondes and other meteorological instruments.
