Transducer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009749
A device that converts energy from one form to another, often used in meteorological instruments to measure atmospheric variables. For example, a thermistor converts temperature into an electrical resistance, and an anemometer converts wind speed into a rotational motion. These converted signals are then processed to provide quantitative measurements of atmospheric conditions.
