Photoconductive cell
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010662
A type of light sensor whose electrical resistance decreases when exposed to light. This device, also known as a photoresistor or light-dependent resistor (LDR), converts light intensity into an electrical signal. In meteorological instrumentation, photoconductive cells can be used in pyranometers to measure solar radiation or in automated weather stations for light detection.
