Direct cell
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005034
A thermally driven atmospheric circulation cell where warm air rises and cold air sinks, directly converting thermal energy into kinetic energy. The Hadley cell in the tropics is a prime example, with warm air rising near the equator and sinking in the subtropics. These cells are fundamental drivers of global atmospheric circulation patterns.
