Thermally direct
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009599
Describing an atmospheric circulation where warm air rises and cold air sinks, converting thermal energy into kinetic energy. This type of circulation is driven by buoyancy forces and tends to reduce horizontal temperature differences. The Hadley cell in the tropics is a prime example of a thermally direct circulation.
