Transducer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012206
A device that converts energy from one form to another, often used to convert a physical or chemical quantity into an electrical signal. In analytical chemistry, transducers are components of sensors that translate a chemical interaction into a measurable electrical response. Examples include pH electrodes converting ion activity to voltage, or thermistors converting temperature to resistance.
