Biosensor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001322
An analytical device that combines a biological recognition element, such as an enzyme, antibody, or nucleic acid, with a physicochemical transducer to detect and quantify specific analytes. The biological component interacts selectively with the target molecule, and the transducer converts this interaction into a measurable signal. Biosensors are used for rapid and sensitive detection in medical diagnostics and environmental monitoring.
