Angiotensin converting enzyme

A peptidase enzyme that converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This enzyme is a key component of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, which regulates blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. Inhibitors of this enzyme are widely used as medications for hypertension and heart failure.
